Rant/Review: Wuthering waves, its Writing...
((An Essay about what I think about the game so far. Note, I have not played into the story of the Blackshore))
Tumblr media

*Do note that everything I say are my opinion*
So, I started playing this game since it's launch. Agree to disagree how I feel about this game and it's current trajectory, because my take on it won't be an overall positive one.
I will mostly take about the story writing in this essay since it is the most glaring issue for me. This topic, I know, would set off some really heated debate, mainly, as I have observed within my scope.
In regards To Wuthering Waves, I'll start with the positives, the combat. I think this is an area that actually outshines Genshin. The bosses in Wuwa are harder, but fun to play. The stakes are higher, and the flexibility of player attack combos feels nice to play.
Unlike Genshin, the boss does not hover, go under, or flash around the area for the majority of the time. I can count how many times I have to wait in the area for a few seconds just for the boss to reappear, hit them within a few nano seconds before having to wait again.
The bosses have their own movesets, attack, counterattack, parries, and combos that keeps you at your toes. They don't shy away from giving you a hard time, and Kuro allows the bosses to have their abilities to be on par with the playable characters.
What I also like are the bosses, or anything really, does not caters to certain limited characters' playstyle or element. This, however, might be too early to say.
The graphics looks quite nice, the NPCs have personality, and I enjoy the many expressions they give. More generous cutscenes, and Rover being allowed to speak. Exploration modes like the grappling hook and parkor are nice touches as well.
With many good stuff happening in Wuthering Waves, it is easy to see how this game can compete with Genshin Impact in the market. Yet, despite so, it did not stop me from uninstalling the game from my Ipad.
Tumblr media
It has been said before by many since the launch. Voiceover, music, dialogues, Ui, and other details in general are making and breaking the game.
I have heard a lot of theories and things as to why the launch is what it is. Back then I was told to wait due to their history with PGR. As a fan I was willing to wait, and endure the state of its launch and mediocrity as long as the experience of the whole package is good.
Which brings me to the glaring issues:
1. The Writing and the Execution.
Needless to say, people flocked to Wuthering Waves is because the game feels like it could offer something different in the genre of open world RPG. Not only is the combat a factor, but also the type of themes and the stories it can tell.
Genshin's story is not bad, but some players deemed the themes of the plot are a little too fantastical and childish. Wuthering waves, given how serious its lore is, and the devastation theme in their concept of a sci-fi world seems like a nice change from a pg friendly game.
I would like to point out, Lore ≠ Story, and Plot ≠ Storytelling.
I think the marketing team stating Wuwa as a story rich game might be a mistake, because the game certainly did not live up to the hype; it did not execute that hype it display in the launch trailer. I won't go into a detail analysis of the storytelling. But, I know this topic has sparked heated debates.
We can all agree to disagree, but this still does not take away the disappointment, and the issues that I have for the game.
The reason for my source of unsatisfaction are due to the quality of the writing, the writing direction, and the medicore execution of plot points. This extends to character story as well.
I want to experience what the lore and open world has to offer, as it was marketed. The story is essentially the overarching experience of the game; a window to the world of Solaris-3
This is where I am coming from when I am getting into the game.
Yet, as the patches progress, the glaring issue of actually writing a story, instead of a fanfic fantasy tested my patience. To me, the main story didn't feel like a progression of the protagonist's journey of their own agency or their accord.
Tumblr media
Which brings in my next point:
2. Characters and Fanservice
I hated the fanservice in Wuthering Waves. I know, quite a big statement.
I believe a good story and fanservice can co-exist, as long as there is a good ratio to it, and is tastefully done.
The fanservice is overly glaring in the story and character quest. Mostly, it was unwarranted. This is what I hate, not the nature of the fanservice itself, but the unwarrent fanservice that is shoved down our thoarts.
Given the vibe and type of game Wuthering Waves convey through the main story, the fanservice really feels jarring. Pairing it with bad writing, it feels like a amateur fanfic writer wrote this, and somehow the Creative Director green lit this as good.
Yinlin's character quest is an example, the one I have gripes with the most. The writing of her story, by how I experienced it, did not make me like her at all, and to force a fanservice scene really takes the cake. It doesn't make sense to me, and it made me begin to question am I playing an Sci-fi open world apocalyptic RPG, or actually an anime isekai dating fantasy game.
The latter is not what I signed up for.
So, it is no surprise I never rolled on the character banner after the beginner's banner. I was pretty much rolling for weapons for my existing characters instead. (Hence, I wish I can convert my green and gold convene to weapon convenes.)
In theory, I should have rolled for Jiyan, but I didn't, because there isn't much interested shown by his character other than the beef with Geshu Lin. ((Edit: The craziest thing is, I legit have no idea what that beef is even about?)) His character quest did nothing to convince me to roll for him.
I shed a few tears during Xiangli Yao's story quest...but it's for an NPC and his monoluge. Not sure what Pascar has to do with Xiangli Yao's, at least how I understood it, urge for solitude to ponder and search for answers to his intellectual curiousity(?).
The characters in Wuthering Waves, to me, feels like a 3D manifestation of tropes rather than characters. There is no depth, and has shown no depth, in their own personalities, and how their dynamic with other characters, NPCs, and Rover develops. It's (the developed relationship) there because the story said so.
My favourite characters so far in the story are actually, Aalto and Encore. These two have more personality to show, and when they are together, they actually create character dynamic. They are also introduced with something to contribute to the progression of the story; providing an insight to the lore of the First Civilisation and the Black Shore.
Scar is also a character that seems to be interesting, but I won't say that for sure until we see him more in action. In all honesty, I think he is interesting because he is the "antagonist" in the story who provides tension and conflict, something like building up to a climax or a twist.
Tumblr media
With an antagonist, there is a protagonist:
3. Rover as a protagonist
Now, I know that the silent protagonist is seen to be a self insert. But, I tend to believe even if the protagonist is silent, there should be at least some consistancy to the characterisation. Because, the switch between the UwU rover, to the Serious/Hardcore Rover feels jarringly inconsistent.
Another point to make is Rover and their, still, lack of agency. From my own understanding of what was presented to me, we should be viewing the story through Rover's lens. Yet, there are times where I felt their response and reactions are passive to naught, and I does not make sense to me, as there is no reasoning on Rover's behalf.
For example, should the seed of doubt linger in Rover's mind after a confrontation with Scar? Since Rover has no memory, what makes them fully trust Yang Yang to the tee? When Rover learns about their significance to the world through Jue, during the confrontation scene with Jinhsi, should the first thing Rover did was to demand for more answers? Ask more questions on the spot, instead being like, "Oh... Okay...". Should the first thing Rover did, after Yinlin zapped them unconscious, is to deem her as a potential enemy for self preservation purposes?
Instead almost all of the agency are given to other characters. In the arc at the Northfall Barrens, most of the agency were given to the resonator cast when they were defending Jinzhou; having their Avengers moment. Rover was just there. Then they were told to find Jiyan. And the rest of time was Jiyan speaking, taking initiative even towards the end.
Like, what was the purpose of Rover being there? Was it because Yang Yang said so? What would Rover achieve by fighting with the Midnight rangers other than earning a hero status? Who knows.
Because of having little to no agency for the Rover, the story feels lost. There is no definate overarching goal.
Sure, they might be searching for their lost memories, but there is no definate goal post for the story to reach it's conclusion for Rover's journey. There is no intrigue to keep the story moving forward.
Genshin's story, as an example, has always been about the MC finding their lost twin, with the conclusion that they will, hopefully, reunite and continue on their mysterious journey. Along the way of finding their sibling, things happened. The regions and their crisis as subplots, that reveals the lore and the trajectory of the world MC is travelling in to reach that goal.
Tumblr media
Gameplay alone can only take a game so far. In the Jinzhou region of Huang Loong, the exploration of the world map needs more work, and even then there needs to be stories that makes the world an interesting place to explore.
I am not saying Genshin has the best writing. It has it's flaws. But, regardless of the sometimes, messy and muddled execution of plot points, having a good story can really make an impact to the gaming experience with games like these.
Tumblr media
Due to the three points mentioned, I was heasitant to begin the new chapter to the Blackshore. With how the story's bad ratio of Character/story development to Fanservice, and the execution of the storytelling, I have been, instead, grinding the domains, bosses, and Tacet fields.
The voice about whether or not I have been phished to play an Anime Waifu fantasy game grew louder at each patch. The fact that I, as a player, have no choice but to endure the jarring superficial segments of dates and fanfiction-quese sequence (I mean the cliche and chessy ones) is enough to turn me off from the game.
It might have not been it's intent, but with how intergrated the fanservice is, it's really hard to take this game seriously anymore. To me, I feel like I was in a lost.
The gameplay alone was not holding the game up for me, as there's only so much you could do in the open world. Either it's boss, puzzles, or combat. The events are always in relation to combat alone, and they are recycled at each patch.
My patience for the, "Just wait, it will get better just like PGR" is wanning. I don't think being a fan of PGR can be used to excuse the apparent state of the experience of Wuthering waves.
Which is a shame, because I really tried to be patient, and I tried so hard to like it. I have been waiting for this game since its first announcement. I remember looking at Rover's very first design and the promo art, being all excited, wanting to play it so badly.
Needless to say, Wuthering Wave, unfortunately is not living up to what it says it's going to be. I think there is potential for the game to be great, but, as of now, and the direction things are going, it feels like they have decided to go a certain way.
Though, I wish they didn't have to phish me into adding numbers to their download count on lauch day. (They didn't actually phish me, but given how everything turned out felt like it.)
I hope, things will get better in the game, and that the experience can be more enjoyable for players alike. Yet, as of now, I won't been having it in my gaming roaster.

i still wish they gave her more skills in the game to be less “useless”. though her character is not to be disregarded for its personality and depth, i think she does still fall into the damsel in distress type which is unfortunate considering they could’ve done more with the concept of iblis being trapped within her body. i guess i just wish she could stand on equal ground with all the other cast members in terms of strength and power, because it felt like her helplessness was used for romantic points which i believed frustrated people. maybe it was less of “she should’ve done something” and more of “i wish they would let her do something”?
augh me too!! i love Elise and i genuinely think people overlook her in many ways but this is definitely not one of them. they could've done so much more with her to make her more on par with the rest of the cast because as it stands, she definitely feels underpowered and maybe even underused. i mean, Eggman mentions her power when he first kidnaps her and yet they never elaborate on it! with the way that first interaction between Eggman and Elise goes when she's kidnapped, it seems they're setting her up to do something bigger, her powers are one of the main reasons he kidnaps her but they just... never elaborate on it. it's such a shame.
she creates shields (with Sonic's help😒(she should be able to make them on her own imo)) in the Princess Stages but that's about it. this girl has a whole ass half of a god inside of her and they don't do anything with it!! it's such a missed oportunity.
while i can appreciate the classic fairytale vibe they were going for see (with the romance between a princess and a knight, the hero defeating an egg-cerberus and an egg-wyvern, etc) but they were clearly trying to subvert it slightly with the kiss bringing the knight back to life instead of the princess. i don't understand why they couldn't subvert it more!! have the princess do some more! yes, Elise saves Sonic in the end, but she could've saved him more!!
i know there's that theory where Iblis=space and Mephiles=time to Solaris' time-space being, but that's never been made really official afaik so i think that they could've had Elise save Sonic. idk. maybe she could go to the future. idk. can you imagine if we saw some Elise trying to control her powers with Sonic there????? i'd be dead.
anyway, all this to say, I agree! Sega!!!!! bring Elise back and this time let her do stuff!!!!!!! please!!!!! i'm begging you!!!!!!

HI I WATCHED S2 ACT ONE
and i'm going to be rewatching it multiple times before the next arc comes out bc omg mama we have been fed so fucking good i am REELING I LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH
i want to interact with the arcane fandom on here more!!! but please keep in mind my takes are silly and surface-level bc my knowledge of lore is not that good and i'm not that smart <3
my thoughts and feelings below the cut. 100% spoilers livetweeted to my girlfriend so it speaks to her directly in some places but i'm not about to type out any other thinkpiece about this omg
- vi come to our reality bc u would love King for a Day by Pierce the Veil and Kellin Quinn (2012)
- jayce was saying to mel "how is viktor like basically fucking Dead and i wasn't hurt at all??? it should be ME in there (the hex core bacta tank)" and mel was like "there's no sense in things like this it's pointless to speculate" which would be a true and meaningful statement EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT people speculate her shining gold metal back and arm appliqués stuff is a Solarian shield (idk jack shit about Solaris but it's a thing i guess idk) so there is SUCH a chance that jayce was shielded by it but not viktor... which like... would be a dramatic reveal if mel was like "yeah i actually didn't want him to survive so i chose to only shield you" but why the fuck would she do that??? but in the very first shot which is of jayce coming back to awareness he is already Standing Up and mel is standing right next to him while everyone else has been blown tf around so. i am pretty confident that she shielded just the two of them... i hope jayce finds out and resents mel for it while still resenting viktor's machine herald shit omfg what if he blames mel for viktor becoming robot king... like viktor told jayce "i was supposed to die u promised to destroy the hex core" so viktor blames jayce but what if jayce blames mel WHY CANT EVERYONE KISS AND MAKE UP COME TF ON....TOXIC THROUPLE TOXIC THROUPLE
- the important character development of s2e1 was cait being really scared and intimidated about filling her mom's shoes but then by the end she is Girlbossified and has a hextech rifle... with three sights on it??? like regular glass sights but there are three of them? i have no idea how that would be more effective than just a single sight with a really clear lens but i also don't know shit about guns LOL. anyway she marched into the council meeting at the end like "YES I AM A GIRLBOSS AND HERE IS MY PLAN" and ambessa was looking at her a bit concerned... if there ends up being a power showdown between ambessa and cait it will be so fucking wild bc tbh cait is NOT very scary lololol like she's angry and she's got a gun but imo she's still the kind of person who would hesitate before kicking someones teeth in
- ok episode 2 zaun is going full mad max AND steampunk w half people wearing bondage gear and the other half being top hat bespectacled steampunk gentlemen.. its like a chem baron fight for power thing except they all fucking suck and i'm excited for jinx to kill them all (she kills 1/3 of the remaining ones in s2e2)
- VIKTOR IS MACHINE BOYYYYYYYYYYYYY "WHAT AM I" YOU ARE MY PERFECT BEAUTIFUL BOY SON!!!!
- i am so sorry and so delighted to announce that viktor in this form has somehow reached PEAK PATHETIC WET MEOW MEOW HE LOOKS SO GOOD
- i can't believe VIKTOR is being the lead toxic in the yaoi WHAT DO U MEAN U HAVE TO GO... THE ONLY THING KEEPING U TOGETHER WAS AFFECTION.... BRO MARCH UR NEWLY METAL ASS BACK IN THERE AND SMOOCH UR BOYFRIEND HE SAVED YOUR LIFE‼️‼️ augh okay i guess viktor will be an emo cult leader now
- sevika is TOTALLY becoming a new champion she HAS to jinx gave her a really cool new arm... its very silly but very cool i think u will like its concept.. but sevika and jinx team-up goes crazy actually i am a Big Fan‼️‼️
- VIKTOR IS MAKING ALL THE SHIMMER ADDICTS INTO MACHINE PEOPLE..... and it completely heals them and makes them young??????? broski WHAT like that is cool as hell!!! they look super badass after The Transformation even if i wasnt a shimmer addict i'd want him to do that shit to me... no wonder he becomes a cult leader he's earned it
- another episode ending with a vander werewolf tease SHOW ME THE WOLF ‼️‼️‼️ SHOW ME THE WOLFFFF i know at the end of episode 3 these bitches are gonna release da vander and then i will have to wait a week to see him forreal augh
- okay its 1:52pm im terrified to watch this tbh but this is the last minute i can start before hockey game
- EXTREMELY COOL ANIMATIC OMFG AND THE SONG RULES HELLO.... babe u HAVE to see this you'd LOVE IT OMFGGGG ITS SO GOOD
- ooh the dead son is a real dead son and also that old lady with the too young voice (amara i guess) was in fact related to the scary goddess thingy people were hypothesizing??? i think??? but thats who the medarda family has blood feud with ig we don't know much else yet
- YURI KISS OMG CAITVI KISS YURI CONFIRMED YAAAAY THEY GOT THEIR LITTLE DRAMATIC FIRST KISS SCENE WOOOOOO YEAH i was worried they were gonna make us wait for that but hell ya
- omfg there is a CRAAAAZY furry design in this bitch hello... who is she and why is she such a queen
- okay maybe ur right jayce does look unnervingly human LOL there was a scene between him and ekko where he looked WAY too good
- TOXIC YURI TOXIC YURI vi stopped cait from shooting jinx and also btw cait has been on a Being A Bitch arc omfg they were making out 10 minutes ago now they are BROKEN UPPP!!! because a random child has trauma-bonded to jinx as an older sister figure HOW THE TURN TABLES and she shielded jinx w herself and seeing that a child cared that much for jinx made vi falter about killing jinx. who is reckless to an apathetically suicidal degree now
- also um. jayce and da scientists seem to have touched the arcane a little too close bc?? they got transported into a Nothing Dimension and then the very nature of reality started glitching in a CRAZY acid trip sequence while jinx vs vi and cait vs sevika fight was happening... it seemed very much like an Into the Spiderverse kind of thing... very interested to see how this will continue to manifest in the remaining two arcs
- mel was just kidnapped by the black rose (??? cult???) which are the ones ambessa is beefing with.. they better not kill her i love mel i want her back safe she's too beautiful to die
- ambessa is in War Mode and she looks extremely badass even if i think she's at least 70% evil
- also cait shot off jinx's middle finger
- in an EXTREMELY bold move, ambessa appointed CAIT AS GENERAL IN PILTOVER WHICH IS NOW UNDER MARTIAL LAW????? bruh cait is getting an insane arc this season.. she went from naive to vengeance-driven and impulsively violent in 3 episodes
- oh my christ cait is fucking queen of cops now... this is so unfortunate for her character arc and so unfortunate for lesbianism
- ANOTHER VANDER TEASE ARE U FUCKING KIDDING MEEEEEEEE I SAID SHOW ME THE GODDAMN WOLF BRO
- okay so it seems like ambessa has realized that she can use cait as a militant pawn using her grief over her mother's death, bc she sees a ruthless quality in her... srsly cait's arc is insane rn

I want to make an appreciation post for the IEYTD tumblr community because its not talked about enough. I love you guys :)
When I first got into these games a few months ago, I had no idea how to find other people or content creators. I started out on insta where I had trouble finding other people and it was really lonely. The discord was/is better and there are some cool people on there as well but about 70% of the new people who were joining were just looking for the release date (it’s gotten better recently and there are great creators there but its more focused on the games themselves than the characters/story). Then because of a friend, I tried tumblr and my god I love it here.
There’s tons more art and people here than I thought there would be and I cannot stress enough how awesome it is seeing everyone’s takes on characters. The Phoenixes and Handlers in particular are my favorites because its like I get to see a little bit of the artist in Phoenix, and who doesn’t love the funny, quippy British voice? They’re so diverse, I love how something as small as a little scar has a whole backstory for it. I find it fascinating to see how many people see Phoenix’s color as red (no hate at all, I love them!). Not to mention the posts about the Fabricator, Juniper, Zor, Solaris, Prism, etc, I love all of these characters and the nuances in their personalities.
The fics I’ve seen are so interesting, shout out to all the writers you guys are AMAZING!! I’ve got to get better at sitting down to actually write my own but some of my favorites on Ao3 are Red String, Spying the Liar, Rising From the Ashes, or so to Speak, Issue is Spelt with a “U” (And an “I” too), Such Lovely Feathers on Your Turncoat, and last but ABSOLUTELY not least, all of Calivide’s works. Seriously I love all of these, I’m such a sucker for angst, fluff, and good writing. If I’ve missed any other good ones or if you have your own, PLEASE reblog or comment or ping me or share them in some way, I’d love to check them out :)
To all of the text posts and people who discuss the silly goobers with me, I love you. To all the people who analyze or make funny shitposts about the characters, I love you (shout out to @/calivide’s in-depth analysis of Juniper I want to use it as reference for something ITS SO DETAILED AND ACCURATE MY GOD I LOVE IT). To all the people who read my ramblings about characters, I love you. To all the artists, I love you. To all the writers, I love you. To all the people who reblog each other’s stuff, I love you. To all the people helping to keep this little fandom of spies going, I love you.
I haven’t been here long but I’ve felt so appreciated and welcomed, and I can only hope that I’ve gotten the chance to make other people feel the same way. Please never hesitate to ping me or leave an ask if you ever want to talk about these games, I’d love to chat <33
I love you all and I’m making you all grilled cheeses
Tumblr media
(me whenever someone likes one of my posts (i cant say it enough all of you are so sweet and make me wanna implode /pos))

Note
first and foremost, i wish you a speedy recovery! congrats with 10k <3
preferences: the boys series, any character you want. i usually gravitate towards men and morally questionable characters, but everything is up to you :)
1. physical: im 21, 5'5, slim, no tattoos, black short hair, i have glasses and i usually wear casual dark clothes, like really not flashy at all. really like going around with a backpack full of stuff for every occasion
2. personality: im agender asexual. basically im trying to logically analyze everything around me, so i end up being 'i told you so' person with negative eq. but really, im told im pretty kind to the people around me. i like interacting with my friends but i get tired quickly from it, so i self isolate a lot. i have a negative worldview. i'm prone to anger and control it poorly. i dont have grand goals in life, no ambitious, i dont strive for more because i dont care, im really only attached to life through the people whom i idolize and if anyone opposes me, my ideals and especially people special to me, i defend them relentlessly, im really only stubborn about them. and well, since my main interest is russian politics, i am really passionate towards russian opposition, so the hate towards the government, violence, dictatorship, censorship, apolitical people who dont care etc etc applies.
3. hobbies: consuming/analyzing new information on anything that interests me at the given moment; linguistics, computer games, drawing, writing, cooking, birdwatching, joking.
4. favorites: book – solaris by stanislaw lem; movie – tenet (2020); game – deus ex mankind divided; song – vertigo by edwin rosen. i like sci fi a lot
thanks in advance ☃️

You're the only person in Butcher's life who can tell him "I told you so". Coming from anyone else, it would set him off. He'd come back at them with quips and jokes and even some harsh words, but when you're the one saying it, all he can say is "I know, love". You're the one who keeps him (mostly) level headed
Despite the both of you being stubborn, you agree on a lot of things, especially when it comes to Vought/Homelander. The both of you would do anything to stop them. Anything. Your Russian opposition bleeds into an opposition towards Vought and Supes in general. It might not always be the best thing for everyone, but if it's the right way to take them down, you're willing to do it
Butcher loves that you like analyzing new information. You're the best on the team for catching things no one else did, seeing the smallest obscurities and inconsistencies in Vought's story. You're always finding something they could have missed. Your attention to detail is what's gotten them out of trouble on more than a few occasions
He appreciates your commitment to the people you love. He's been fighting this fight, first for Becca, then Ryan, now you. You're linked together through love and appreciation and understanding that you're committed to one another no matter what. Though he doesn't always feel deserving of it, you make sure he knows you'd never leave him. You'd never turn on him
Butcher was never really good with words, so he's pretty amazed by your writing. When he does try to talk things through, it all comes out wrong. It's jumbled and cynical and taken the wrong way. The fact that you can make your words malleable and work right and also sound pretty blows him away. Even his compliments come out wonky, but you've been together long enough to know what he's trying to say, what means
I hope you like it my love!!!! Xoxoxo💜💜💜💜💜

The Traveler - Chapter 8 - Earth, 2013 pt 2
You're from a specific dimension, Solaris Eclipse. It was a dimension of magic. When your kind, the Eldrathiren, turned fifteen, your unique power would awaken within you. Most times, it was something small, levitation, teleportation, creation, elemental manipulation, and things like that. Once in a while, a fifteen-year-old would just disappear, and those were called Travelers. None of them had ever returned. Your parents had told you stories about them, and you hoped that wouldn't happen to you.
Please don't take my work. I'll post warnings for each chapter. Will probably be 18+ I haven't decided yet!
Word Count: 6024
Pairing Eventually Dean Winchester x OC Reader/You & Sam Winchester x OC Reader/You
Warnings: Angst, fluff, some alcohol use. A/N: Don't think there's anything else in this one. It's fairly relaxed.
----------------------------------------- Chapter 8 - Earth, 2013 pt. 2
The Borhter’s POV
Dean dragged his hand over his face once he closed your door, then headed to the library where Sam was sitting, having another beer, “It’s not fair,” he grumbled.
“She needs this time to recuperate, Dean. It's not fair to any of us. We don’t even know where Y/N from our time is right now. What dimension she ended up in,” Sam told him, then sighed.
Dean poured himself another glass of whiskey before he sat across from his brother, “This is gonna be a lot harder than I thought it would be. I have to keep reminding myself she’s only sixteen and doesn’t know how we all are together.”
Sam glanced toward the hallway where the rooms were, “She doesn’t look sixteen. That last world was hard on her.” He sipped his beer as the silence spread between them for a bit. “Let's just try to help her remember what laughter is.”
“Not gonna be as easy not being able to touch her,” Dean chuckled, smirking with the thoughts dancing through his mind.
“Hey, I’m trying not to think about that, and you’re not helping,” Sam tried to sound stern but couldn’t keep from chuckling.
“It’s also not gonna be easy sleeping,” Dean somewhat groaned.
“We’ll just have to think of it like when she has her alone nights,” Sam said, glancing over at his brother.
“I have a hard time sleeping those nights. Don’t tell her when she comes back, though. She’ll feel guilty and end up wanting to comfort me instead of taking the alone time she needs,” he told his brother seriously.
“I won’t tell her. I promise. I’m gonna go take care of her clean stuff. Don’t overdo it on the whiskey. You know she’ll be able to smell it on you in the morning,” Sam warned his brother before he headed to the laundry room.
Dean pulled out his wallet, then the picture of you he’d taken when you were seventeen and had come back for the first time, smiling as he got lost in the memory. He let his thumb gently glide across your cheek in the picture. You were in the middle of laughing at a joke he’d told you at Bobby’s. It was the day he realized he was in love with you.
“Dude, how long have you been staring at her picture?” Sam asked, setting your things down on the library table.
Dean quickly slipped the picture back into his wallet, leaning back in his chair, “Not that long. Just pulled it out.”
“Sure ya did,” Sam teased him, knowing he’d probably been staring at it the entire time he’d been gone.
“Bitch,” Dean retorted.
“Jerk,” Sam chuckled, “I’m heading to bed. Don’t beat yourself up. She’ll be back. She always comes back to us.”
“I know,” Dean mumbled, sipping his whiskey.
Sam headed to his room, knowing there was nothing he could do or say that could ease the pain his brother was going through. This wasn’t the first time they’d gone through the heartache of missing you due to your shifting. Since Sam had turned eighteen, the two of them had been trying to figure out a way to help you stay in one dimension. Up until this point, they hadn’t been able to find anything. Sam had been hoping the bunker would hold some secret spell buried somewhere in all the lore it held.
----------------------------------------- Your POV
With this place having no windows and you not knowing how to read a clock, you had no idea what time it was when you woke up. You stretched, then just laid there for a bit, enjoying the softness of the mattress and pillow. Due to the last world you had been in, you weren’t entirely sure how many hours of sleep you would get at a time, as there was no way to tell time in that place.
You pushed the blankets off, got out of bed, and headed toward the library. Neither of the brothers were there, so you headed to the kitchen. They weren’t there either. Then you checked the garage, but the car was still there, so they hadn’t left.
Where are they?
The only way you were going to be able to tell what time it was was if you went outside and you knew it. That, or attempt to find the brothers’ separate rooms and see if they were still sleeping. Sighing, you made your way up the stairs and then to the door that led outside. Opening the door, you couldn’t see any light, and glancing toward the sky, you could still see the stars twinkling in the darkness.
After closing the door, you headed back to your room, grabbing your bag and the small pile of clothes on your way. Although, you weren’t tired. How little sleep had you gotten used to having in the last world you’d been in? Your new goal for the day was learning to read a clock. You set your stuff on top of the small desk in the room, then headed back out to the library. There were so many books lining the shelves. You were sure they were filled with all sorts of fantastic information, but since you didn’t know how to read English, all you could do was admire them. You plucked one from where it was nestled on the shelf and opened it, smiling a little as your fingers danced lightly across the page filled with words. The scent of the old book almost circled around you, and you almost chuckled.
“Sam’s scent,” you mumbled, smiling a little.
You sat down at one of the library tables and slowly flipped through the book. It had some pictures but without the explanation, you didn’t know exactly what you were looking at.
“You’re up early,” Sam said, somewhat surprised as he stopped when he saw you in the library.
“I’ve been up for a while,” you replied as you looked over at him, “Will you teach me how to read a clock?”
He chuckled, “You really are adorable, Y/N. Yeah. I can teach you how to read a clock. Lemme get some coffee.”
You felt a slight warmth in your cheeks when he called you adorable, and you weren’t entirely sure what to say in return. As he walked away, you closed the book and returned it to where you’d found it, then sat back down and attempted to wait patiently for Sam to return.
Now on the fifth go around with numbers, several pieces of paper, Sam’s laptop open with a clock on it, you were slightly frustrated.
“Why does this seem so difficult?” you grumbled.
“What are you two up to?” Dean asked, finally awake and in the war room.
“Numbers are annoying,” you grumbled again, laying your head on your arms on the table.
“Sam, did you try with coins?” Dean asked.
“No. I was trying to teach her what the numbers were, not how to count,” Sam told him in a slightly smart-ass way.
“I got you, Sweetheart,” Dean told you, “Lemme grab some coffee real quick.”
When Dean returned, he had a cup of coffee and a box. He sat down on the other side of you, smiling.
“How are dominos going to help her learn numbers?” Sam asked, both confused but also amused.
“You’ll see,” Dean chuckled as he dumped the dominos out of the box.
You sat up a little, watching Dean. He was grouping the small rectangular objects with dots on them. Then he took some of the paper, drew numbers on them, and then put one of the objects under the number.
“Okay, Sweetheart. Technically, these are called dominos, but right now, that doesn’t matter. I know you can count. This will help you make the correlation,” he chuckled.
Dean continued to explain his concept to you as you tilted your head in curiosity. He started at the first one. The domino had a single dot on it, and the paper had a number. Once you caught onto his concept, it was reasonably straightforward. The amount of dots equaled the number on the page. Sam just shook his head at how his brother had taught you numbers.
They did get a little complicated after ten, but with some practice, you picked it up quickly. Dean grabbed Sam’s laptop and explained how the numbers were divided by the hour and the minutes and had your wrapped attention. Once you were able to tell him the time consistently, you threw your arms around his neck and hugged him tightly.
“Thank you, Dean,” you told him happily, “Now I’m hungry.”
He chuckled, hugging you back, “You’re welcome, Sweetheart.”
Once you disappeared into the kitchen, Ssam turned toward his brother, “I can’t believe you taught her numbers with dominos,” he chuckled, thoroughly amused.
“It worked, didn’t it?” he asked, rather proud of himself.
Before Sam could answer, you poked your head out of the hallway for the kitchen, “Umm, I kinda need some help with what's okay to eat.”
“I’ll help her with breakfast. You’ll try to make her eat salad or something,” Dean told Sam before he joined you in the kitchen.
You followed him to the fridge, curiously attempting to see what he was getting out, but when he backed up, he bumped into you.
“Tell you what. Have a seat on the island there, and you can watch, okay?” he told you, trying not to chuckle at how adorable he found your curiosity.
“Okay,” you sighed.
You hopped up onto the island but occasionally had to move to see what he was doing. You were careful, though, to avoid bumping into what he had placed on the island. The familiar scent of bacon wafted through the air, causing you to purr. You weren’t quite sure what the other two things were, but they smelled delicious as well.
“Alright, have a seat at the table,” he told you, plating up what he had cooked.
“What is it?” you asked, moving to the table.
“I give you bacon, eggs, and hashbrowns with two pieces of toast,” he explained, setting the plate down in front of you.
Your eyes followed the plate and widened when you saw the deliciousness in front of you, “Looks yummy.”
“Dig in, Sweetheart,” he chuckled before he began cleaning up.
He could hear you purring from across the kitchen as he cleaned and you ate. He was also missing the you from this time but refused to let it show. Dean knew you couldn’t feel the connection and that you wouldn’t feel it fully until Sam hit eighteen.
You happily ate, enjoying the new food, especially when you ate some of it all together. At least now, you could tell time here, and you planned on figuring out how long you normally slept for. Once you finished eating, you took the dishes over to the sink. You’d watched how Dean had washed the other things, so decided to attempt washing yours.
“What are you doing?” Dean asked, slightly puzzled.
“Helping,” you mumbled, messing with the nobs on the sink.
He chuckled and walked over to you, “This one’s hot, that one is cold. You need hot water to wash dishes with so it gets all the food off,” he explained gently.
“I know how to wash dishes. It’s just a little different in your world than mine,” you told him, using the scents in the air to direct you to the soap and sponge.
Dean leaned against the counter and watched you, arms crossed. The hot water was hotter than you had expected, so you had to turn on some of the cold one so it didn’t burn your hands. You wondered why Sam had stayed in the library but didn’t ask. Your mind wandered for a moment.
Two mates…
“You okay?” Dean asked.
“Yeah. Sorry. I got lost in thought,” you replied, putting the now clean dishes into the drainer with the others.
“Whatcha thinkin' about?” he asked fairly curiously.
“Just stuff you don’t want to tell me about,” you answered plainly as you dried your hands on a towel nearby.
Dean sighed, “I’m sorry.”
“I’m not mad. It just sucks,” you replied, now looking up at him, “So, now what? You said I was here for two weeks.”
“I’m not sure, really,” he answered, looking like he was attempting to think of something.
You giggled at the face he was making, “Let’s go see if Sam has any suggestions.”
Dean rolled his eyes but followed you to the library, “Sam, got any suggestions for what the three of us could do while Y/N is here?”
“Hmm,” Sam hummed, now thinking as you and Dean sat down in the library.
You noticed how Sam had cleaned the things up from when Dean taught you about numbers and how to read time here. While Sam thought, your mind wandered again.
When does it happen? Am I in their world when they feel it? How do I get back to the right time? Where do I end up after this shift? Why do they have to smell so good? How would two mates even work? Do they get jealous of each other?
Too many questions with no answers. You knew you couldn’t ask them. They already wouldn’t give you answers you wanted. As your thoughts traveled down a very intimate path, Sam finally spoke, pulling you from your thoughts.
“Well, we could teach you to read English so you can read some of the books. Then there are games we could play that you might like,” Sam shared, using his memories of her future self and the things they’d all done in the past.
“We could spar a little,” Dean chuckled, causing you to raise an eyebrow.
“You sure you wanna do that?” you asked, not completely understanding what he was suggesting.
“You might learn something on how to defend yourself better. Plus, it’s all in a friendly way. We wouldn’t be doing it to hurt each other,” he explained.
After mulling over what they had both suggested, you opted for learning to read English, at least to start with. Dean grumbled a little, so you told him that when you needed a break, you’d want to try the sparing with him. Seeing him smile like a happy child made you giggle.
Sam moved so that he was sitting next to you with his laptop open. You watched as he pressed the keys, and things changed on the screen. Learning how to read wasn’t too tricky, as you had picked up speaking English quickly on your first visit to Earth. He started with simple words and worked up to harder, more complicated ones.
Four or so hours later, Dean was beyond bored, and you could tell. Sam had switched from the laptop to several different lore books from the bookshelves. You found reading fascinating, along with the information the books held. A plate being set on top of the pages you were reading caused you to look up seeing Dean.
“Figured you were hungry. It’s past lunch,” he told you, attempting a smile.
“Oh. Uh, thanks, and I’m sorry. I’m not used to paying attention to time,” you replied, feeling bad.
Dean sighed and sat next to you, “Don’t feel bad. I just wanted to spar with you today, but you looked so happy reading, I didn’t want to ask.”
You gave him a small, happy smile, “Then after I eat, we’ll spar,” you replied, then looked at Sam, “Are you coming too?”
“Sure,” Sam chuckled, shaking his head in amusement.
The sandwich was delicious. You had really missed Earth food, and this one was new, with new items and flavors that made you purr as you ate. Dean had even brought you a soda. The bubbles it had, which Dean explained was carbonation, tickled your nose, making you giggle. The belch you released caused both brothers to laugh.
“Ready?” Dean asked, getting up from his seat.
“Definitly,” you replied with a mischievous smirk.
You followed Dean while Sam followed you to the gym. As Dean opened the door, your eyes widened with awe at everything inside the room. You had seen it when he’d given you the tour the day before, but this time, you were able to look at all the objects in the room. Everything was placed neatly around the room. You only vaguely knew what these items were, as you’d seen most of them on TV on your first visit to Earth.
Dumbbells and barbells of varying sizes were neatly organized on racks along the walls. Vintage boxing equipment adorned one corner of the room, its weathered leather and polished wood exuding a sense of timeless nostalgia. Heavy punching bags hung lifeless from the ceiling, their surfaces worn smooth from countless rounds of training and sparring.
In the center of the room, several thick mats lay on the floor, ready for sparring between the brothers and now you. Dean slipped off his shoes, as did Sam before they walked onto the mat. So, taking that as a queue, you did the same.
You felt giddy as a sense of anticipation coursed through your body, watching the brothers for a moment. They had no idea what you’d learned in the last two places you’d been, or at least, you hoped they didn’t know. It would at least give you an advantage, even if this was just for fun.
“You ready for this, kitty cat?” Dean teased, a playful glint in his eyes.
Your ears twitched in amusement at the nickname, your tail swishing behind you in anticipation, “Bring it on, Winchester,” you retorted, voice laced with determination and playfulness.
At least it would be one-on-one, as you weren’t sure you could manage both of them at the same time. You and Dean nodded in agreement before you both lunged forward simultaneously. Your movements were a blur of speed and agility. However, your cat-like abilities gave you the upper hand.
Dodging Dean’s hits and attempted grapples was simpler than you had expected, and you wondered if he was going easy on you. So, after dodging yet another punch, your muscles coiled like a spring as you countered with a swift kick to his side. Hoping back a couple of steps, you smirked, looking at him.
He grunted as Sam chuckled. Dean stumbled back a bit, but his grin widened into a smirk, “Not bad,” he admitted, his eyes alight with excitement, “But let’s see what you’ve got.”
“Sure you aren’t going easy on me, Winchester,” you chuckled, distracting him with your words.
Wasting no time, you launched another attack, your movements fluid and precise as you danced around Dean’s defenses with practiced ease. Your cat-like agility allowed you to move with lightning-fast reflexes, darting in and out of his reach with grace and finesse. You found it fairly fun to just tap his body instead of actually hitting him. Just showing him you had the ability was far more amusing.
The few hits Dean did get in were light in comparison to things you’d fought before. Although, you were still fairly certain he was going easy on you. He did manage to block several of your jabs, but it taught you how he moved, making further hits far easier.
“Pretty sure she’s up on hits, Dean,” Sam chuckled from the sideline.
Dean refused to take his eyes off you, watching how you moved, “Shut up, Sam.”
In one last swift movement, you knocked his feet out from under him, chuckling as he landed flat on his back, “That the best you’ve got, Winchester?”
All he did was smirk as he grabbed your leg, pulling you to the ground with him, where he attempted to pin you, “Just a friendly sparing match, Sweetheart.”
You smirked, not only getting out of his hold but turning things around so that you were now pinning him, “Still think you’re going easy on me.”
“All right. That’s enough for one day,” Sam chuckled.
“What? Worried I’ll pin you too?” you asked Sam, not taking your eyes off Dean.
“Alright, Sweetheart, let me up,” Dean chuckled.
You rolled your eyes, letting go of him and moving so he could stand. You had no idea that he knew your weaknesses, although he wasn’t going to use any of them. You were far too young for him to use those particular tactics this time.
“No. Just figured we could all relax with a movie before dinner,” Sam chuckled again as he slipped on his shoes.
“I like movies,” you replied happily, picking up your shoes so you could just toss them into your room. Walking around in socks was far more fun as you could slide across the smooth floor of the bunker.
Halfway through the movie, you looked over at Dean, who was to your right in the chair again, debating the question you’d been thinking about since you’d gotten there. “Do you know where I’m going to end up after here?”
Dean paused the movie and looked over at you, as had Sam, “All I can tell you is that it won’t be as bad as the last place. You still have to be careful, though,” he answered, hating he couldn’t tell you more.
You sighed and looked back at the TV screen, so he pushed play as the brothers shared a silent conversation through their expressions.
Dean again carried you to your bed that night, as you hadn’t wanted to go to sleep after one movie, and left you with Sam to watch another while he had made dinner. The three of you even ate while watching the movie.
That first week passed quickly, too quickly for you. There was laughter, teasing with light banter and jokes, and there were too many times when you’d get quiet or they would. It was those awkward moments you wanted answers for.
You also realized you had horrible sleeping habits. Some nights, when you’d go to sleep, you’d sleep for six hours; other times, it was only a couple, and you’d end up needing to nap during the day. It took almost that whole first week to fix that, so you were sleeping all night. On the nights you were awake, you’d spend your time in the library, reading the lore books.
During those times when you’d read, your mind drifted to your interactions with the brothers. The way they would look at you when they thought you weren’t paying attention. Their scent was also different from the last time you’d seen them. They always acted as though they wanted to be closer to you but were keeping their distance on purpose.
That second week, Dean introduced you to his music. Due to your hearing, he couldn’t turn it up as loud as he usually would have. He did watch you, though, as you listened to the words and the beat, adoration in his eyes and a soft smile. Sam chuckled, watching the two of you. Some of his music you really enjoyed. The ones with an upbeat sound made you want to move your body along with it. The slow ones weren’t your favorites, but you listened to them because you were curious as to what they were about and why Dean liked them.
When you asked Sam about the kind of music he liked, Dean just rolled his eyes. Then, he went to make some food while Sam shared some of his favorites with you. You noticed Sam had more love songs mixed in with lighter rock music, some country, and more recent things. Some of the songs were even sweet, making you smile a little.
“There’s nothing like that where I’m from,” you told the brothers as the three of you ate some lunch Dean had prepared.
“There’s probably nothing like it in any dimension that isn’t similar to Earth,” Dean chuckled.
“Is there any more pie?” you asked curiously, but also wanting to change the subject. You could tell that the brothers didn’t completely agree on music.
“Sorry, Sweetheart. You had the last slice a few days ago,” Dean answered, feeling a bit bad that they were out.
“I can go make a run, pick some up,” Sam offered, knowing his brother needed this time with you more than he did. He also had far more patience than Dean did.
“Really?” you replied, your ears perking up at Sam’s words.
Sam chuckled, “Yeah, really.”
You jumped up from your seat, quickly going over to Sam and hugging him tightly, overjoyed. “Thank you.”
He gently put his arm around you, holding you close rather than hugging you. “You’re welcome.” There was also a softness in his tone and his touch, which you didn’t miss. It made all those questions circle through your mind again. You watched Sam head to the garage before you sighed and sat back down, confused and mildly frustrated.
“What’s wrong?” Dean asked you from across the table.
“Just questions you won’t answer,” you grumbled.
“Sweetheart,” Dean sighed sadly.
“I know. You can’t tell me stuff. It just sucks, that’s all,” you replied quietly, fidgeting with your fingers.
“Come on. Let’s play a game,” he offered, trying to brighten your mood and change the subject.
You tilted your head at his suggestion, puzzled but also curious as your ears perked up. He went over to a shelf on the far side of the library and grabbed a rectangular box before sitting back across from you, smiling like a little kid. You found him looking fairly adorable at that moment.
“This is a game called Sorry. Since you can read now, it should be easy enough to follow along,” he explained.
Dean explained the rules and that you had to pick a color for the pieces that would be yours. So, you chose blue, and he chose red. The two of you played the game, and you got the hang of it quickly, realizing you did have a bit of a competitive side, which the game brought out. You were on the second game, halfway through it, when Sam returned with the pie.
Before you could tackle him with another hug and grab the bag containing the item you wanted, he held it above his head, causing you to pout.
“I’ll put a slice on a plate for you. You can’t have the whole thing in one sitting,” he told you, attempting to keep from chuckling as you tried to reach the bag he held over his head. Perhaps if you weren’t 5’2”, you might have been able to reach it better.
“Come on, Sam. Let her have the pie. One time won’t hurt her,” Dean chuckled, trying to persuade his brother.
“You’re as bad as she is,” Sam chuckled, finding you rather amusing as you still were attempting to reach the bag.
“Pwease,” you begged, pouting slightly, trying to give him those kitten eyes.
It took everything in Dean not to lose it laughing as Sam sighed, giving in and handing you the bag that contained the pie. You were acting like an adorable kid, and he couldn’t tell you no when you looked at him like that; neither of them could. You may not have known that at the time, but you’d learn later on.
“Lemme get you a fork,” Sam chuckled.
You were grinning from ear to ear as you sat back down, pulling the pie out of the bag and setting it on the table in front of you. The aroma filled our senses when you opened the package, closing your eyes to commit it to memory. You were so lost in enjoying the apple pie in front of you that you’d completely forgotten about the game you and Dean had been playing.
“So, you want to take your turn or just eat your pie?” Dean asked through a chuckle, making you giggle.
“We can keep playing,” you answered, then took another bite of pie before taking your turn.
Throughout the rest of the day, the three of you played different board games. Though, Dean suggested you cook with him when dinner time rolled around. The way the stove worked fascinated you. He didn’t have to build a fire or get the coals to the amount needed for whatever needed cooking. This thing, you just turned a nob, and the fire appeared under the burner. Then, you could adjust it to the strength you needed the flame. Yeah, you’d watched him cook before, but this was the closest you’d been to the stove so far when he started.
“I’m gonna teach you how to make those burgers you like so much,” he explained.
Smiling like a little kid again, you opened the fridge and pulled out the things you’d seen him grab before when he cooked these things. Like bacon and ground meat. Then, there were the toppings that he cut up, along with cheese.
“Somebody’s eager,” he laughed, watching you.
“I love these things. No other place has had anything like this,” you admitted, still smiling as you placed the items on the island for him.
Dean explained every step as he did it, starting with putting the ground meat in a medium-sized bowl and then adding the spices before mixing them into the meat. You helped him form the patties, watching carefully how he did it so you could mimic the outcome.
After washing your hands, Dean explained the cooking process, starting the burgers in one pan and the bacon in another. He even came up behind you, holding your hands gently. He showed you how to hold onto the handle of the pan while flipping the burgers with the spatula in your other hand.
It felt nice to be close to him, comforting in a way. He didn’t stay there long, though, before he leaned against the island and sipped his beer, just watching you cook.
He began slicing up the toppings, and you wanted to help with that, too. So, he explained how thick things needed to be, and you grabbed the onion, following his directions. The onion made your eyes and nose water, which was somewhat annoying but made Dean chuckle. Sam had even come to watch the two of you from the kitchen doorway, smiling softly at the scene of the two of you.
“Smells amazing,” Sam said with a smile as he finally joined the two of you once it was done cooking.
“She’s a quick learner,” Dean smirked, watching you plate up a burger for yourself.
“It helps when I have a good teacher,” you smiled, looking at the two of them, plate in hand. “Are we watching another movie or eating at the kitchen table tonight?”
“We can do another movie. How about an action one this time?” Dean asked.
“I think that’d be okay,” you replied, then headed toward the room with the huge TV.
And that was how most of the second week went. Dean taught you how to cook, the three of you played board games and watched movies, and the two of them taught you a few new things, one of which was how to use a gun and how it worked. Since you knew how to read at this point and had read several of the lore books, they also taught you what killed what in their world.
You woke one morning, near the end of the second week, feeling a pull toward something. It wasn’t the scent you’d been following. No, this was a different sort of feeling. You dressed, then made sure your bag was packed with all your belongings, including the new things the brothers had given you.
I don’t want to leave, but I know I can’t stay.
It was early, just after seven, when you set your belongings on one of the library tables. The oddest thing about this particular visit to Earth was that you hadn’t gotten any abilities like you had in the other worlds.
Perhaps it’s because this is the future here and not the present time?
Your ears drooped as that familiar scent drifted along the air.
Almost time…
Now, all you had to do was wait until the brothers woke up and came into the library. You knew that if you walked out of that room, you’d end up in another dimension. That was how it always happened. The scent would come, and you’d walk through some sort of space between two objects or a doorway, and then you’d be in another dimension. You closed your eyes and really took in the scent this time: the scent of the pages of an old book, pine, apple pie, oil, coffee, mint, and that one shampoo in the shower you thought smelled almost like pine but slightly different. It was the brothers’ scents, all mixed together, but it wasn’t like what they smelled like now. It was from a time that you wanted to get back to, as this was the future and not where you were meant to be.
“You okay?” Sam asked, pulling you from your thoughts.
You gave him a small, sad smile, “It’s time, Sam. I have to go.”
Without hesitation, he went to you and pulled you into his arms, holding you close. It was far more than just a hug, “We will see each other again. You always find your way home, Y/N.”
“Thanks. I didn’t want to leave, without saying goodbye and… thank you, for everything,” you replied quietly, wrapping your arms around him.
“I’m gonna go get Dean. He’ll want to see you too, before you go,” he told you quietly, although he didn’t want to let go of you, not yet.
“I’m really gonna miss you guys,” you said, now fighting back tears of sadness at leaving them yet again.
Sam gently squeezed you one more time and kissed the top of your head before he headed to wake up his brother. The two returned shortly afterward. You hadn’t gotten ready, not quite yet. It would have been challenging to hug Dean with your stuff on you.
“Has it really been two weeks already?” Dean asked, now wide awake.
“Yeah,” you sighed.
He then wrapped you up in a hug, but it was more like an intimate embrace. So, you put your arms around his waist and held him just as close. The goodbyes last time were bittersweet as well. This time, though, it felt harder.
“You’ll be okay. You always find your way home, Sweetheart,” and there was a softness in his words that made you both feel comforted but also like you wanted to cry.
“I’m looking forward to when I can finally stop dimension-hopping,” you mumbled, leaning your head on his chest.
“We’ll never stop looking for a way to help you with that,” Sam said, and you realized he was now standing next to his brother.
The two of them hugged you, sandwiching you between them. The feeling of safety, comfort, peace, and then something else you couldn’t quite put your finger on made you want to stay. You knew better, though. Fighting against following the scent only ended up hurting you in the long run.
When the scent came again, you pulled away from the two of them, tossing your bag over your shoulder and grabbing your spear before you looked back up at them.
“I’m gonna miss you two,” you told them, trying not to look as sad as you felt.
They both gave you a comforting smile, “We’re gonna miss you too. Hell, we miss you now, but we’ll see each other again,” Dean tried to reassure you.
With a deep breath, you walked toward the opening between the library and the war room, the scent drifting along the air, beckoning you to follow. You looked at the brothers one last time, trying to commit their appearance to memory before turning toward the opening, then stepped down the two steps toward the war room when everything changed.

ouh i NEEED to know 22 (their own little way (or ways) to say ‘i love you’.) for the women or else i'll die... don't let me die...
YAYYY WOMEN YAYY okay don't die I'll do it. Gay ass inventors being gay under the cut because this got longer than I anticipated LMAO
ROXAFABBYLARIS / TRIPLE THREAT: 22. their own little way (or ways) to say ‘i love you’. [from here]
I feel like...all of them being creatives (in a sense), they'd give each other little trinkets and gifts and such. Some of them may be purely functional, but for the most part they're decorative, symbolic, and unique. There's some aesthetic choices that makes it obvious who made what, and each of them really enjoy those little differences. Solaris leans more into the straightforward functional side, Prism's has a lot of moving mechanical parts, and Fabby's little creations are the most stylistic (both for little engineering projects and fashionable gifts). And I think each of them would know each other Really Well that they know exactly what they want to do for them. You know that phrase "I loved you to the point of invention"? One of my favorite dang quotes, literally them full stop.
For other little ways...
Solaris isn't much for obvious tells of affection, but she's very fond of spending time with the people she loves. She likes spending time doing whatever, even if they're just chilling, working on something together, generally just doing stuff together. I'd think she's the type to be very attentive to her partner's needs (as in, physical needs...she's still working on picking up emotional and romantic ones). Part of it is because of her experience post Death Engine--all that physical pain is something she wouldn't want to happen to the people she cares about. She tries to get her workaholic girl friends something to eat (she's trying her best to not burn everything she makes...)
Fabricator would be the more physically affectionate one, everybody knows this...On very rare occasions (read: Solaris and Prism ONLY) she uses her affection to comfort someone if they're feeling down. There's also a specific change in the tone of her voice that she only reserves for partners (again, Solary and Primmy) to show her genuine affection for them. Any show of vulnerability for Fabby is a whole fuss for herself, but when it comes to supporting her partners or letting them know she loves them genuinely, it's all worth it. Usually she also does small acts of service for them too.
It's very easy for Prism to put her love in her words I think. She's very vocally supportive and she likes giving praise to her favorite people, and she could usually phrase it in a way that the other two could find meaningful. Whether it's in awe of a cool project or personal achievements, she likes celebrating the little things with them. When she's not knee-deep in a project, she would also do acts of service for her partners... making their fave drinks when they're feeling down, helping them with their own projects.

some more ieytd headcanons but ones specifically centered around zoraxis staff. prism is mentioned but not really in a spoiler way. nothing is mentioned that the trailers haven't already revealed so idk
Juniper
Struggles to keep long term relationships of any type because showing that he cares about people is incredibly difficult for him. He likes to imply it and just… hope the other person knows. But what seems obvious for him is incredibly vague for others around him.
(He has lost most of his friends and all of his partners to this phenomenon and he’s really bitter abt it)
He hates embarrassment so much that the second he starts to feel it his brain translates it straight into rage. Unfortunately, this quick fuse normally causes something to happen that only embarrasses him further.
He talks to himself a lot. Which means that he thinks to himself out loud, but he also literally talks to himself. Refers to himself as ‘John’ and hypes himself up whenever he’s about to do something he deems important.
His conceit actually comes at the consequence of making him incredibly paranoid. Whenever someone’s talking or laughing, he always needs to take a second to eavesdrop and make sure they’re not talking about him.
Roxana
Suffers from very intense time blindness- both in regards to her work, as well as her personal life.
Robutler being there was probably the only thing stopping herself from wasting away after she left the Agency. She can, will, and has forgotten to eat, drink, and sleep while she’s been working on projects before.
Names are incredibly important to her. They’re a sign of basic respect, and over the years that mentality has affected how she communicates with… pretty much everyone around her. She uses them a lot more than the average person would because of that.
(It makes talking w/ Fabby so hard because calling her ‘Fabricator’ feels. bad. That’s not a name dude. even Zor has a name Fabs come on work with her here.)
Really hates unpredictability. Only eats from a small pool of foods because that’s the only stuff she’s absolutely certain she’ll like. Working with her robots is so comforting because she’s always aware of exactly what their thought process is going to be.
Solaris
She’s naturally very loud. Volume control is pretty much never at the forefront of her mind, but at the same time she gets really annoyed when people tell her to keep it down.
Believes (wrongfully, mind you) that everyone else has at least a neutral relationship with her. Is completely unaware that some of the crew are absolutely terrified of her.
Says what she means and means what she says; rarely ever sugarcoats stuff, and hates needing to decipher other people when what they mean and what they say don’t intertwine.
Praise doesn’t really do anything for her. Obviously it’s nice to receive, but it doesn’t make her feel any better about the work she does. In that regard, she’s entirely self motivated.
She’s very prone to sleepwalking. She’s learned the hard way to cut herself off from her projects and actually go to bed after too many incidents of her wandering around in the lab, bumping into who knows what.
Fabricator
Gets mad easily, and stays mad for a really long time. The sort of person to shake with how visceral her anger is. ‘An eye for an eye’ is one of her daily affirmations, she is not above revenge in the slightest.
She enjoys the way that most people shrink away from her in fear, and plays up her unnerving demeanor just for the fun of it sometimes. However, sometimes people will be scared of her when she’s not even trying, and she will be completely oblivious as to why.
(It's like that scene in Bad Guys where they can’t even get a check for their meal because the staff are all cowering, so they just have to leave the cash on the counter. Waiters in the kitchen drawing straws trying to decide who’s gonna be forced to serve her)
Poison has been her special interest since before she was even working with Zor. Obviously, they’ve only fueled that fire of hers since.
Absolutely adores creatures that people would consider stereotypically terrifying, so long as they have aesthetic appeal. She’d wear a live snake around her neck like a feather boa. She baby talks to Zor’s scorpions. She takes design inspiration from tarantula coloration. You get me.
Speaks with her hands a lot. If you stand too close to her she’ll probably poke your eye out.

Warframe Quest tier list
Explanations of ratings under the cut:
Great: Quests that hooked me conceptually and are the core of how I view the game/my own characters and worldbuilding
Sacrifice - This quest is worth the hype. That's it. Even though I have gripes with Umbra from a fandom perspective, I love the lore of the Warframes a lot.
Glast Gambit - personal sentimental favorite, this is purely my own bias. I think it's a really good early example of a fun character interaction (Nef and Ergo, toxic old man yaoi LONG before WITW; they are divorced, the worm in my brain told me so) and also an interesting way to show the "choice" system via a moral dilemma (Neewa's fate).
Whispers in the Wall also goes into the "Great" tier, great quest, great characters, great setup for the next era of Warframe and imo a culmination of all the ups and downs that Warframe has been through the years and that ended up in a truly great narrative experience.
Good: Quests I liked but that missed a certain "oomph"
Duviri Paradox - I love Duviri as a place and the mythology around it, but I expected something different from the quest itself. Certain story beats didn't land because I did not feel the emotional connection the game expected me to (coughcoughTeshin'sfakeoutdeathcoughcough). Also didn't like Drifter being a snarky ass in a Marvel-esque way. I'm too used to RPGs and MMOs so when a game forces a characterization on my character I get really antsy if it's something she would not say.
Deadlock Protocol - I LOVE the Corpus so any Corpus content gets instant bias bonus points. Introduction of a very solid villain, Nef bullying. It has it all. This quest could also go in "great" but I think the narrative itself isn't compelling and earth-shattering enough to warrant that.
Waverider - hot take alert! Corpus bias once again, Nef being humbled is always a plus. The k-drive was annoying but I got gud and finished the quest, it was entertaining.
Vox Solaris - good introduction to the Solaris faction but I feel the conflict was solved way too quickly, but I also wasn't around for the release, the ARG and the introduction of the Orb Mothers. Still, I think Nef and the Solaris' conflict could be made into a cinematic three-parter on its own. Oh well, that's what fanfiction is for. (Ps. Nightwave Season 3 had a forgettable side character, Cutter, who touched upon a subject I wish the Solaris plotline explored more)
Call of the Tempestarii - I almost want to put it in "wasted potential" only because I wish Vala had more of a prominent role. Sighs. I love Corpus, I love evil women, I got an evil Corpus woman. Please give me more evil Corpus women.
Chains of Harrow - overall good quest. Rell's story is heart-wrenching. I still headcanon that "Margulis cast him out" is Red Veil propaganda and Rell got separated from the rest of the Tenno in other ways and was brainwashed to believe he was cast out completely.
Second Dream - I knew the Operator existed before I played this quest so I didn't have the HOLY SHIT WHAT!!! reaction, but I think this is a good quest and I understand why people guard the Operator secret even though I think it hurts the narrative of Warframe overall. Oh Well.
New War - To me it's like a Marvel movie, a huge spectacle. It was fun in the way a popcorn movie is fun. It was more fun gameplay wise than story-wise, though I enjoyed the Void/Wally/Zariman lore the most (it's my second favorite thing after Corpus stuff).
Okay - these are quests which either didn't particularly speak to me, or I just have completely forgotten. All the early quests fall into "forgotten" category and things post War Within are more on the "okay" side.
Wasted potential - Silver Grove. My joy, my pain. I WISH this wasn't an ancient quest and the post-quest moral actually applied to New Loka. I think as a concept New Loka are very interesting, but poorly executed, so now they're just "lol ecofascists/plant nazis" so I can't even get people to engage with them on a serious level. Forever seething and malding
Disappointment of the century - Angels of the Zariman. I was there, I participated in the ARG to the best of my ability, I read the logs, I changed my blog title to "Abyssus accipit et Abyssus dat" because I liked it that much. Then I got a 30 minute tutorial quest with a bunch of NPCs I don't care about and my Operator had zero emotional reaction TO RETURNING TO THE PLACE WHERE IT ALL FUCKING BEGAN AND THEY KILLED THEIR PARENTS AND LOST EVERYTHING THEY EVER HELD DEAR JESUS FUCK WHY WHY WHY
anyways
I warmed up to the Holdfasts and Yonta is cute so I have forgiven her crimes. Also this was during an era where I was constantly miffed at DE adding new characters instead of building on old ones.
So yeah, that's that.
tl;dr - I have a bias towards lore regarding the Warframes themselves, Corpus and anything regarding the Void/Tenno. Also I have shit memory.

hi everyone! this is my first post, and these are some of my fav pedro’s replies on reddit!
Tumblr media
Fav fruit: any kinds of berries, quote on quote “I would say that my favorite fruit, I like berries. I like any kind of berry, blueberries or raspberries or blackberries or strawberries.”
fav animal: elephant, quote on quote “Elephant. I'm just completely transfixed when I see one on television or at a zoo. I find them sort of magnificent, and humorous, and intelligent, and gentle, and dangerous, and I just think that they are incredible.”
His Fav Chilean Wine: “Chile has very, very good Merlot. And I would say that, hmm, there's one called the Alma Viva, it's a Cabernet, and that's very good.”
His opinion on microwaved pizza “I have the same problem. I eat out a lot. I unfortunately don't really know how to cook for myself. I try to find good things to eat, but sadly am often on the go, and a microwaveable pizza finds its way into my situation more often than not.”
Fav sock color to wear: “I'd say the easiest socks to wear would be black socks. And the most fun socks would be some sort of, you know, odd pattern of purple, aqua and green.”
His opinion on Dogs or cats: “Well, I LOVE Dogs like there's no tomorrow. And unfortunately I have an allergy to cats, although I find them to be beautiful creatures.”
Role model: “I had a lot of different role models. My dad took me to the movies my whole life, he was a big movie buff, and me and my sister would go with him to the movies a few times a week. So I had so many heroes, like all of the major actors. I would have to say one of my favorite actors is probably Gene Hackman, but that's a really hard question to answer because I've had so many heroes that I've admired, filmmakers that i have loved, I remember seeing Steven Soderbergh's first movie when I was really young and then seeing every movie he did after that. I was a very book reading, television and movie watching geek. So it makes it endless in terms of the amount of people that I have admired.”
Fav superhero: “Sorry for not picking an ACTUAL superhero, but one of my favorite characters that was a superhero to me was Beatrix Kiddo in the Kill Bill movies, played by Uma Thurman in the Kill Bill Movies 1 & 2. For me she is one of the fiercest movie characters of all time.”
Does he like hummus? “I love hummus. I was eating hummus this morning.”
Someone asked “Prince Oberyn, what undergarments are present under your tunic?” his response on reddit was “Um, well, I've got some pants on and under that... skin.”
Someone asked “How long would you last in a zombie apocalypse? Cheers for the AmA, and I hope to see you in more stuff soon <33” He replied, “One of my favorite movies is 28 Days Later, and I used to think about this a lot after I watched that movie because I feel like it's such a terrifyingly realistic possible circumstance, that a virus would turn these people into rabid zombies, so I kind of wondered often how i would survive. I remember that I had a dog at the time, and I knew that i would have to keep her alive at all costs. I don't know exactly how well I would do, but I would probably do everything to keep myself and my friends safe. I might not last that long because I would probably sacrifice myself to save a family member or something like that. I'd like to think so anyway. I would say that so far I've been pretty lucky because my mom has good genes, and that's gotten me by, I am capable of watching more hours of television than I am doing exercise in a week, so it would really depend. I actually get out of breath really easily, so I think in a zombie apocalypse I would have to rely a bit more on my brain rather than my body.”
Fav sci-fi film: “GOOD QUESTION! OOOOH I have so many favorite science fiction films. I would say Alien and Aliens are two of my favorite scifi films. Also Children of Men would be one of my favorite science fiction films. I love the original Solaris and the remake. And even though it wasn't a film, the series Battlestar Galactica was one of my favorite TV shows.”
Fav disney film: “Even though it's associated more with Pixar, I would say Wall-E. And the Incredibles. Those are two of my favorite films of all time. And then as far as Disney, more of the classic animations, I would say my favorite Disney film is Dumbo. I like to cry, what can I say?”
Someone said, “Hi Pedro, thanks for doing this!
Just curious, Oberyn seems like a very calm and relaxed character most of the time in the show. Are you like that most days as well? If so, how do you manage to keep cool and stress free?”
he replied, “I unfortunately am not a stress-free person. I am so happy that Oberyn is coming across that way. I would love to be able to move through life with the ease with which he does. But that is not the case in my reality. I guess I relax with any opportunity to jump in the water, that is a good one, and of course i also watch a lot of TV. But I am not as cool and collected as Oberyn, unfortunately.”
Someone asked, “If you weren't an actor, what profession would you like to pursue? (Assuming skills aren't an issue!) Love your portrayal of Prince Oberyn, and I can't wait until next week's episode! <3”
he replied “If I wasn't an actor, hmm. It would be my fantasy to be a war journalist. Or teaching literature, maybe?”
part 2 soon!!

GET TO KNOW THE BASICS FIRST !
full name:  malee "may" pawityakul / code name: neptun date of birth:  march 1st, 2023 / age: twenty-six ( 26 ) zodiac sign:  pisces sun, moon and rising to be determined  gender:  cis woman / pronouns: she/her birth place:  bangkok, thailand ( moved to the us during her teen years )occupation: intelligence agent for mercy current location:  apex city, united states family: parents ( both alive ), two siblings languages spoken: thai, english, more tbd
LOOK AT HER… CLOSELY !
height:  1.75m faceclaim:  mint ranchrawee eye color:  brown / hair color: brown dominant hand: right  other notable features: n/a
NEWS WOULD SAY THAT…
people know her as: the girl who is always willing to lend a helping hand. she’s sweet, tries to welcome everyone into her life but she’s also careful and over analyzes everyone before trusting them fully. overcritical of herself, not others. into risk-taking and new adventures.
BACKGROUND AND OTHER FUN FACTS…
born in thailand but raised in california during her teen years;
grew up with a middle child mindset of being mostly ignored by her parents and literally doing whatever and still not being good enough for their standards;
the type of girl that would fight off bullies with the most serious face but was also known as the sweet, all smiley, princess that everyone loved and looked for when needed help;
started doing soft hacking and coding when she was still in high school, mostly as a way of revenge/finding out stuff of those bothering her or her friends/siblings ( she did get in trouble in the beginning because god knows, she knew shit about what she was doing );
but may truly never had many goals in life and barely even knew what she wanted to do when she reached the age to get into college. eventually was doing freelancing ( programming ) after she finished high school, much to her parents disappointment;
not having many goals and into exploring new things: may thought it’d be worth a try, when she was reached by mercy, even if she didn’t get in. the main goal of the organization kinda spoke to her heart and she thought it’d be cool to be somewhat of a hero ( of course she didn't really think much about how it'd be a tough journey at first )
went through her training and her junior agent era and then joined the intel division ( it all made sense, she didn't even complain )
i kinda had usagi from alice in borderland in mind when i thought about her personality because in my mind she wants to help others and she’s probably the first one to offer help to anyone new in the organization and all that but, at the same time, she works super well alone. she wants to fight the bad and bring good things to those who need it. she wants people to feel understood and to feel like they have someone to count on. may is very passionate about those things. and she’s super nice and sweet but also very strong and direct when needed to be.
she crochets to get over the stress, just a fun fact. she is very nerdy in the sense that she knows too many useless facts about a lot of stuff, so i had in mind that her code name came from that, facts that she would probably let out during the day about planets and stars ( but she wanted to be cool and so it became neptun and not neptune... because the e makes a huge difference lmfao... i totally didn't make a typo in the app... totally! )
didn't take the solaris drug because, despite being very intro trying things and into adventures, the thought of having a superpower of some kind scared her way too much
WANTED CONNTECTIONS…
will be adding them, little by little !

guilt, hate, mask and fear for Gale and Sasha
guilt: What is your OC guilty about? How do they handle their guilt? Do they try to avoid guilt, or do they accept it?
As of now, I haven't finished Gale's playthrough of reborn. So outside of the stuff within the nightmare segment, I don't exactly know what they would be guilty about right now.
Sasha I feel he had some guilt over not getting Taka out of Meteor sooner. Naturally he wants Taka to choose when he leaves but getting Taka out is always a net positive.
hate: What does your OC hate? Why? How do they act towards the object of their hatred?
Gale would hate Solaris, for how he treats her half brother and from what her mom told them. Sirius is also someone they dislike. Unsure about the rest of the cast right now tho.
Sasha hates Solaris and Sirius with every fiber of his being. He only stays where he is because it's what they trained him to do. But he despises them
mask: Does your OC wear a mask, literally or figuratively? What goes on beneath it? Is there anyone in their life who gets to see who they are under the mask?
I don't think Gale wears a mask really. They know who they are, and what they want. She's different from Leo in that way, so was wearing a metaphorical mask in the beginning.
Sasha isn't wearing a mask per say. A lot of him that he shows off is real. I think it's just that he has lots of walls up. He's down to have fun with people, but none of team meteor he actually considers a friend. He doesn't exactly let himself be vulnerable ever. So like, yeah I don't think he wears a mask, just that he's surprisingly distant for a man like him.
fear: What is your OC's greatest fear? What do they do when confronted with it? Are they open with their fear, or do they hide it away?
Gale is sadly undeveloped so I can't exactly say right now.
Sasha on the other hand fears a few things, most of which tie back to Solaris and Sirius. For one, he does fear them in a way. The training he went through at a young age was brutal, and it shaped him into the Guard Dog he is today. He hates them as much as he fears them. Bc of how he trained, he fears showing "weakness" - be it getting emotional over stuff, letting people in, etc. Vulnerability is pretty much what he fears, and that's only bc he was taught that it was bad and it wasn't part of his job.
Aaaaand yeah! I feel bad for pretty much all of Gale's Answers being " I dunno". I really have to develop them more.

Hi Heka, I discovered you for all your amazing Leodia art, but I genuinely enjoy everything you make! I have always wondered how you envision the reconciliation between Leona and Diana to be like? Do you think Leona will discover the error of her ways on her own, or will she require the intervention of some other person/a cathartic event?
Unrelated but I am also curious about how you think a meeting between Morgana and Syndra would turn out in the main universe, given the WIP you shared of them at Riftmas :3
Hii Explodingquails, thank you so much for your words and support!! <3 <3
And hmm, how could I answer this... Well, I have thought of this before and at the same time I have a pair of scenarios. I guess it depends on the route Leona takes? Either her tyrant route or she not know what the Solaris are doing (the lore itself is stuck between those two concepts, lord help me)
This requieres what we call a "mucho texto" (meme-ish way to say "very long text"), because for Tyrant Leona
I picture her as someone who has reached self-failure (Leona is meant to be a protector for the weak and yada yada). I don't think or picture her as brainwashed or a zealot, she knows her protective ideals, she knows the cruel actions of the Solari and is aware of their radical behavior specially because she saw how they treated Diana. But she's stuck in this radical place where the Solari can kill their own (as said in the latests story that features Atreus iirc). Leona decides to stay because she has the weight of her people + family and their expectations upon her, and has to fulfill them by the fear of dissapointment. I think some of us can relate to that.
The scenario of this route causes a conflict that escalates to war, and it's a situation that overcomes Leona psychologically. She accepts that she has become a tyrant and arrives to the conclusion that, in order to end the bloodshed, is by Diana killing her. This of course leads to a semi-god fight where Leona pretends to be cruel and ignorant as a way to anger Diana, who later notices that façade. Diana tries to reach Leona but she refuses and basically threatens Diana to make a supernova if she doesn't end her lol (extra dramatic I know). But Diana, knowing how Leona feels, just runs across the chaos and fire to hug her, which puts and end to the conflict. WOOOOOO clap clap and everyone was happy again.
That's the first reconciliation scenario I thought about. Now for the route where Leona doesn't know shit, well, I guess she would find out eventually and Diana herself or the Lunari, or the rakkor would tell her "hey the Solari are killing everyone please stop this" and Leona would go like "Wait what??" and start moving because Leona is, supposedly, a protector.
She can call out the Solari but I don't think that would go well for her lol, maybe she can try to find Diana but the Lunari take her as a prisoner because it's the enemy AND leader of the Solari, Diana finds out and both talk about the things that are happening and how Leona just didn't know. Maybe the Solari go absolute bonkers and decide to burn everything everywhere at the absence of Leona since she's a threat to their bloodshed too. It's not a polished idea so I can't say a lot more kjkjdkj but I think it would be a desperate situation that can make them fight together (A DREAM RIOT PLS) and a first step to end the conflict
Now for Morgana and Syndra
This involves that Morgana is not in Demacia (maybe when things start to go well in there she can afford traveling around), and this scenario is related to my HC of Syndra being an incognito. Not as a spy or anything, but let's say, she pretends to be a wanderer or someone who lost everything to the war.
Syndra (and this is canon) can only understand her magic fully if she discovers and knows herself, because it's driven by her emotions. So I decided to use that excuse to make her go around Ionia (and to get food and stuff because the suplies of the fortress aren't infinite, like). She doesn't think that she's making a self-discovery trip, she's not aware of that fact, but something within just tells her to go to the country she hates to the gut lmao.
While she wanders around, maybe at night but totally in the middle of the forests where she usually hides, she encounters a mysterious figure that approaches her, this being Morgana. With the "What's troubling you, child?" kind of trope.
Syndra immediately feels threatened by her because there's something about Morgana that makes her feel exposed, and emotional exposure equals danger to Syndra. She warns Morgana to stand back and leave, ready to attack. Morgana however just walks closer as she knows that Syndra cannot attack her even if she wants to.
Just as Morgana can percieve Syndra's incredible magic, Syndra notices Morgana's power, but is unable to determine what she is. She's not human, she's not an ordinary mage, nor a vastaya, or any other type of creature that comes to mind. Whatever she is, Morgana is just something superior. She knows she can't mess with her.
Morgana presents herself calm and smiling with tenderness. She explains to Syndra that her large pain caught her attention and how she understands that feeling of anger, betrayal and loliness created by her people and family, just like she felt because of Kayle. But she also senses how Syndra is trapped inside her own mind and how that torments her deeply.
Syndra somehow knows that what she says is true, so decides to accept her company even if it makes her feel vulnerable. There is something about Morgana that makes her unable to reject her.
This strong empathy that Morgana feels would drive her to share her views, teachings and wisdom to Syndra, and Syndra herself, with time, would feel free to be herself infront of a mentor and motherly figure, figures that in the past hurt her deeply. It's a dynamic that would help both characters come into terms with their personal pain and broken bonds.
Syndra's "I had a brother once, but he betrayed me instead of protecting me." which would mirror Morgana's "I had a sister once, that betrayed me instead of being by my side." You get what I mean overall.
Now this HC comes from the Kayle and Morgana's rework AMA, where a Rioter stated that the character that Morgana would feel the most empathy for, would be Syndra.
This Rioter also stated that she would make Syndra feel the pain she inflicted to others as a way to teach her (like she usually does), but I disagree with that part. Syndra's new lore puts her as a victim of family mistreatment and bullying, who developed an (almost uncontrolable) explosive temperament along with a strong distrust towards others. If Morgana tries to approach her and uses her magic to make her feel pain to learn, it just would make Syndra see Morgana as a red flag, someone like those who had hurt her.
Even if it goes against her judgement themes, I think it's something that would break the first steps of their dynamic, which are very important and fragile because they revolve around trust and being emotionally open.
Anyways I'll leave it here before I write even more LMAO hope this was at least a pleasant reading!

I BEAT SONIC FRONTIERS AND I HAVE THOUGHTS
MAINLY GOOD. SOME NEGATIVES. BUT OVERALL HOLY SHIT THIS WAS A STEP UP.
So, key points:
>Like I mentioned before, MOST of the voice acting was a huge step up. Roger FINALLY got a chance to not sound like a complete jackass with the previous writing for Sonic, he actually sounds kind and compassionate. I’m happy for him. Though Amy sounds… weird. Not sure if I like this performance for Amy.
>The CHARACTER WRITING. WE HAVE KIND SONIC BACK, WE HAVE CONFIDENT KNUCKLES BACK, WE HAVE A TAILS WHO WANTS TO DO BETTER! And… again Amy, who I wish people would stop trying to dodge or overwrite her crush on Sonic.
>OK I LIKE FISHING. I’LL SAY IT. FISHING WAS FUN AND THE MUSIC FOR IT SLAPS.
>In general a GOOD chunk of the music slaps. Tyler Smith from Dangerkids coming back? Hell yeah. The Titan fights? All bangers. The way the island music builds up when you open up more space and stuff? Great. The ending theme for Sage was pretty cute, though it wasn’t my thing. Felt too much like they were going for Dear My Friend vibes but too on the nose with the lyrics. Also… I hope I don’t get hate for it but I don’t like Nathan Sharp’s music. I kind of went off to finish some chores while it was playing. There’s like maybe TWO pieces of work I like from him but other than that I’m not a fan.
>I feel… conflicted about the exploration of the story? It’s rad that the Ancients are distant relatives of Chaos, but they kind of don’t do much with it. Liiiiike… does that mean they could have gone Perfect Chaos with the Chaos Emeralds? If so then why rely on the Titans? Also kind of conflicted about the Chaos Emeralds having a defined origin now. It’s cool, but also takes away their mystique.
>Ok Sage was pretty cute and I like her daughter role for Eggman.
>The gameplay was mostly fun overall, but it could get pretty janky and frustrating. Mainly homing prompts wouldn’t show up or if you boost you miss the bumpers. This is especially frustrating in fights with Ghost.
>Ok… the ending? Nearly ruined the whole game for me. I’m trying to look past it and reflect on the positives, but that’s NOT a Sonic ending. That’s also probably the worst final boss we’ve ever had in a Sonic game. A big asteroid that shoots energy balls? Oooooo scary. Compared to bosses like Bio-Hazard, Solaris, Dark Gaia, Merlina… this one sucked.
>I feel like the corruption for Sonic COULD have been a good dire premise, but it got fixed too quickly and… also how did they fix it? It wasn’t really elaborated.
But honestly, this whole game was worth it and while I have some minor writing disagreements with Ian Flynn, I trust that man with my life and I want to see where else he’s gonna take the Sonic games.

Note
Supposedly there's an interview that states that Shadow remembers Sonic 06(though I can't find it), Blaze might remember depending on how you take Generations and Elise had the same deja vu as Sonic at the end of the game so she might remember to the same degree he does now.
Although apparently a writer has said that no one remembers that game and Sonic referencing it in TSR is an inconsistency? So either Silver's closest friends in the past know and he doesn't or everyone only has deja vu feelings of 06's events. It's a mess and my research only leaves me more confused.
I think at this point we might need to accept that '06's plot is inherently unclear and messy and its paradoxes and ambiguities all but hang together with duct tape and prayers. Not even stuff that has to do with the ending of the game when the events get erased where they still don't know what the actual consequences are; also things like Elise having the blue Chaos Emerald for 10 years of her life despite the fact it got used in prior games no issue, or Blaze being introduced in Sonic Rush yet no-one recognising or interacting with her to the point it's a common fan theory she's a fragment of Silver's imagination. It also doesn't help that I figure the theories, interviews, and references from official channels are written by different people who have different views and knowledges, and thus what they say could directly contradict what someone else said earlier. It's an all-together chaos, and I think we'll never be able to get a definite answer, because any answer they could come up with other than "we might have completely fucked up here timeline- and canonicity-wise" is probably just going to open up more gaps and confusions.
How I myself see it is that Sonic vaguely remembers and Elise does too (perhaps because they were closest to the flame of Solaris when it got blown out or something, I don't now), and no-one else recalls things other than the occasional sense of deja vu like in Colours DS with Silver and Blaze. Maybe Blaze remembered in Generations because White Space already had interesting timey-wimey stuff going on, since Crisis City should never have been brought there in the first place since it never got created. Or perhaps the fact Crisis City is there means that there is a universe where The End Of The World by Mephiles never happened, which would allow for ESP Silver to exist too. But for me, the mobile games are not really canon to the mainline games; they often have a lot of oddities going on with characters that should not exist or who are dead being brought in (I believe Runners once had Erazor Djinn show up... dude is trapped in a lamp at the bottom of a pool of lava. And Mephiles is in both Runners and Speed Battle as well, despite the fact he probably never existed in the first place now), which is because they can. People like seeing these characters, so of course the mobile games are going to cash on that! But for me, such contradictions and inconsistencies makes their overall bearing on what is actually canon to the mainline games rather low. But I do love taking details from and writing stories about stuff the non-canon games introduce!
